After Care Program Procedures - Please read this procedures handbook to find out more about our After Care Program.
 

Registration Process

1. You will need fill out the application.

2. Once applications are submitted, we will take them in the order that they are received and place them into the 3 groups (K-1, 2-3 and 4-5) until all groups are full.

3. You will receive an acceptance or denial email 2-3 weeks after the registration date.

4. If you are accepted, the $25.00 Registration Fee will be added to your Parent Portal account. This fee must be paid by Friday, August 4th or your child will be removed from the aftercare roster and the spot will be filled by the waitlist.

In an effort to keep our students from carrying a heavy backpack as well as the need for backpacks to fit into our lockers, we strongly encourage one that is 16"H X 13"W.  Below are some recommendations:

Option 1: Order an LL Bean Original Book Pack (Item #: TA502873) through LL Bean  (www.llbean.com)

Option 2: Purchase a Jansport Trans backpack, which can often be found at Target and Academy Sports. 

Faculty, Staff and Administration at the Center for Knowledge are expected to:

• Provide a quality education.
• Provide a safe and orderly learning environment.
• Be concerned about the individual needs of every child.
• Treat every child with respect.
• Expect every child to be respectful.
• Be supportive, visible, and available.

Students at the Center for Knowledge are expected to:

• Obey school rules, classroom rules and regulations.
• Be on time each day ready to do his/her best.
• Practice self-control at all times.
• Show respect for authority at all times.
• Respect school property at all times.
• Use good manners.
• Be honest.
• Strive to do their best by completing assignments, projects and homework on time.
• Make school and learning their first priority.
• Always practice proper hygiene.
• Be in proper uniform everyday.
• Bring and maintain proper materials.
• Listen and participate in class.
• Show pride in their school.

Parents of students at the Center for Knowledge are expected to:

• Parental involvement and support is necessary to provide students with the support that allows them to reach their full potential.
• Be supportive of high academic standards set for students attending the Center for Knowledge.
• Support the expectations of conduct at the Center for Knowledge and Richland Two.
• Be available for conferences when they are requested by their child's teacher.
• Take an active role in their child's education by staying involved in their child's daily learning.
• Have their child in the classroom on time.
• Support the Center for Knowledge by volunteering their efforts for extra activities when possible.
• Pick their child up at dismissal at 2:50 unless after-school care has been arranged with the office by submitting a registration form.
• Respect the teacher's professional opinion.
• Communicate their concerns with teachers and the school administrator.
• Send their child to school appropriately dressed.
• Volunteer to serve.

Parent eLearning Support Site- This site includes helpful videos and/or written directions to assist your child with logging in to his/her Chromebook, accessing Google Classroom (our virtual learning platform for classroom learning), using Google Meet (our video conferencing platform for instruction), accessing district email, connecting wifi to your district Chromebook, caring for your district device, and learning about Digital Citizenship and Responsible Use when using devices and learning on-line.
